GEORGE ABARA, M.Sc. Industrial Sociology (Ibadan), AMNIM, ANIPR, MNIRA, CIPMN, MNITAD, has about 33 years of progressively responsible work experience in Human Resource Management, Manpower Resourcing, HR Consulting, Training, Research, Banking, and Broadcast Media, Sales & Marketing experience across multi-ethnic, multi-cultural work environments.
George until recently was the Group General Manager (Sales & Marketing), Chicason Group, an emerging indigenous conglomerate and managed the Sales Directorate of six (6) Operating companies including a Petroleum Product Trading company and 5 (FMCG) within the Group with combined sales turnover in excess of N118.45bn. He was incharge of the supervision of Business Development and Petroleum Sales Operations, Product Strategy and repositioning of the various brands/products in the Personal Care as well as the Plastics and Lubricants operating companies within the Group; with the introduction of new product lines.
George, had earlier worked as Group Head of Human Resources within the Group, with over 4,650 work force operating in 8 African countries.
He was at one time the Managing Consultant of Beca Lotus Consult, (a Human Resources and Training, and Sales and Marketing outfit). He was a Consultant to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on Nigeria Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy (NEEDS) and has held Senior and Management positions in various organizations. He was at different times Relationship Manager and later Branch Manager (Retail banking), Human Resources Manager and Head of Learning and Development in Intercontinental Bank Plc (now Access Bank Plc). He was a Senior Consultant/Group Manager in Tom Associates Training, Head of Human Resources at Standard Trust Bank, Group Head, Human Resources and Administration of Minaj Media Group and General Manager, DBN Media Group.
George has led various projects/assignments in HR Strategy, Recruitment, Job Analysis, Manpower Audit and Implementation, Succession Planning, Manpower Development & Training, Compensation Management, Leadership, Change Management, Customer Service, Sales and Marketing and Pre-Retirement training for various organizations.
He was at one time on the Training Faculty of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria. He is a Member of Nigerian Institute of Training & Development, Associate Member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Member, Nigerian Institute of Management of Nigeria, Member, Nigerian Industial Relations Association. George is involved in Training and Capacity Building for corporate organizations.
Revd. Olukayode Olugboyega Oyebode Alumni of the University of Lagos. King’s College and the Polytechnic Ibadan; is a thorough bred Management and HR Professional, Trainer and Consultant with over 37years rounded experience across conglomerate and Industries including the Public Service as a Director. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) and was a one-time Chairman Membership Committee as well as member of Council for years and Member Board of Fellows Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) and Fellow of the Nigeria Institute for Training and Development (FITD)
He currently runs bod-karon consulting (Human Capital Management, Training & Leadership Solutions Providers) as Managing Partner/CEO from 1st July 2004.
Prior to setting up the consulting outfit, he had A 22year post-graduate work experience across functions in various capacities as Per. Mgr., Div. Pers. Director, Coy Recruitment & Dev. Mgr., Coy Training & Dev. Mgr., Area Mgr., Ag Group Head of Human Resources, Div. Bread Director & Vehicle Marketing Mgr. in UACN Group.
In February 2006, he was invited by Intercontinental Bank Plc to Head their HR and Admin as Group Executive Corporate Services with the HR & Admin Functions under him as well as the L&D with Learning Centres in Suru-lere & Ogere, Ogun State.
In February 2009, he moved to the Marketing function and appointed Regional Business Controller Lagos Island, a job he did for 7months before he resigned his appointment in December 2009 to return to his consulting outfit again as Managing Partner/CEO to-date. Notably he was on a contract briefly with the Nigeria Railways Corporations as Deputy Director Human Resources & Administration as part of it revitalization process before he returned to his Training and Consulting outfit.
His outfit - bod-karon consulting a “one-stop shop” has seasoned facilitators with experience cutting across various industries including conglomerate, trading, marketing, sales, manufacturing, engineering, agriculture, banking & finance and Public Service etc. Both Revd Oyebode and bod-karon consulting are certified trainers with CMD. Likewise Revd Oyebode is a certified Human Resource Practitioner HRPL with the CIPM. It is notable that he has also been a faculty member of various institutions including FITC for several years where he has always been scored very good ratings at his training sessions. He has delivered several papers on Ethics in the Workplace across instituitions. He is also an Anglican Clergy.
